Build proposals

Good / Better / Best options

Build an honest, easy-to-scan comparison across three equipment choices.

A Good/Better/Best proposal works when each option answers the same customer questions in the same order. Hawkeye Estimates keeps the format consistent; you supply the reviewed facts and recommendation.

Build each tier

For every active option, complete the fields that materially affect the choice:

  • Product name and manufacturer
  • System and component models
  • System type, capacity, and tonnage
  • SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2 when verified and relevant
  • Refrigerant and electrical requirements
  • Indoor unit and zone type
  • Warranty terms
  • Option-specific notes
  • Equipment image
  • Customer price, discount, and final total

Not every product page will provide every value. Leave an uncertain value empty rather than making it look authoritative.

Make the differences visible

Use a consistent level of detail across all three cards. If the Best option has a longer warranty or the Better option adds an equipment feature, name that difference in the corresponding field or Additional option notes.

Tier Example positioning Avoid
Good Dependable base solution Language that suggests poor quality
Better Meaningful efficiency or comfort step Vague “more features” wording
Best Highest-value verified configuration Unsupported superlatives

Check the customer view

Read across the comparison rather than down one card at a time. Confirm that model numbers, specifications, warranty wording, images, and final totals line up with the right tier. If the differences still require a verbal explanation, improve the notes before sharing.
